Family Camp 2014

Our favorite family vacation is family camp! This list is long on all the reasons we love family camp (see older posts on family camp for more details). For now here are a few photos from this year. Already looking forward to next year!

The Great Outdoors!

Our family loves many things, but one of our favorites is time outside. Add together time outside with great friends, fishing, bike rides, the nature center, and swimming and you have the perfect weekend!  Although we camped pretty close to home the adventure was wonderful.

The boys were excited to have all weekend to spend time with their friends.

Time to go fishing! Don't go without me!

Bike ride with the crew to the nature center.
  Caleb and Noah with antlers.

Jonah wanted to try antlers as well, but all he could find was hooves. Silly Guy!

Time to head back to camp for an evening of games and a campfire.

It was a little crazy with 3 kids, 2 adults, and 2 dogs in our tent! We would not have it any other way. I wish we would have thought to get a family photo as it was Chocos last camping trip. But we have lots of memories to reflect on. Thanks Jeff, Amy and family for such a great weekend. Looking forward to many more outings like this!

Mommy & Daddy went to Orlando!

There sure has been a lot going on in our lives recently. Mommy & Daddy went to Orlando, while Noah got to stay at Grandma & Grandpa's house. All the aunts, uncles, & cousins were around to play with as well.

Even though daddy had to work in Florida, he & mommy did find some time to have some fun!

Mommy & Daddy's friends Chris, Carrye, Joe, & Ashley went to Orlando as well. The whole crew spent most of Saturday at Disney-MGM Studios & had a great time. This was the first trip to Disney anywhere for both mommy & daddy.

It was very tough for us to leave Noah for an extended period. Daddy has had to travel for work once or twice, but mommy and Noah have hardley been separated for the past 8 months. There were a number of little kids at Disney, even though they wouldn't ever remember the trip. Every time we saw another little tyke, it reminded us of our Noah at home. Even though leaving Noah was especially emotional for mommy, she did manage to have a great time;)

Here's mommy & daddy sitting in front of the giant guitar at the Aerosmith rock & rollercoaster.

Here's the gang again ready for the muppets 3D. Looks like everyone is having a good time!

July gone by...

Boy, has the month flew by. I don't have much time to write stories of grand adventures, but I did want to get a few fun photos out for those of you (if anybody does actually read this) to enjoy. We started off the month with a trip to North Dakota. Mommy & Noah had a good time while daddy helped with the roof at the new house. We also took time as a family to get out on the golf course.

Of course Noah couldn't resist the call of the rocking horse. He hasn't seen a horse before and thought it looked kind of funny. He was used to seeing his "rocking dog", a treasure that grandma had found for him.

Although he is enjoying himself here, he has gotten less excited about the exersaucer in the last couple of weeks. His attention span is decreasing quite a bit & gets bored with things rather quickly - especially those things that he has seen over & over the past few months.

We have gotten many questions regarding the color of our eyes, as Noah's sure are blue. Alice says she likes to dress him in blue shirts because it makes his eyes look even bluer - is that even a word? Daddy just likes to find something that's clean & has something fun like animals or baseball on the front.

Lastly, the reliable bathtub has gotten too small for this big boy. We tried one bath in the big tub, but it just seemed like overkill. Mommy found this fantastic ducky at target & is perfect for Noah sized guys. We couldn't decide which photo to share, so we limited it to 3. Noah likes the new tub as well, because he can sit up by himself and use the inflated sides to balance if necessary.

Finally, there are no photos to prove it (not that anyone really wants to see), but Gemma got her 4th skunk of the summer. You think she'd learn one of these times that they don't like her & really stink up the place. The hunter that she is, she brought it back so proudly & dropped it at my feet. Mommy was thankful for a sinus infection that left her without a sense of smell;) There was also one more rabbit, but we've lost count on those. She has been doing pretty good on birds, but I guess I haven't given her enough to keep her busy during the summer so she has to make her own adventures.
